Boomer's Urban Renewal: A Buffet of Marque Games for Week 3

Who's hungry for some more CFB? ME! ARE YOU?!?
With Rutgers, 23 to 13 come from behind victory over USF last night on TNF, it got my taste buds craving another full weekend of college football. With Week 3, it provides us with a buffet of plenty marque games on the slate this weekend. After their recent announcement of their move to the ACC, Notre Dame travels up to East Lansing to face Sparty for ABC's primetime main course. Some other games that will caught your eye down the buffet line include: USC at Stanford, Florida at Tennessee, and Alabama at Arkansas. Some other appetizers that you can sink your teeth into have UNC traveling to Louisville, Cal at Ohio State, and Texas traveling to Ole Miss. Whatever team you cheer for and wherever they are playing make sure to do one thing this weekend.....bring your appetite.

Games to keep an eye on in Week 3: (Complete Week 3 Schedule)

- Cal at #12 Ohio State (NOON ABC)
  • WANTED: Someone besides #5, carrying the load for the Buckeyes.
- #1 Alabama at Arkansas (3:30 CBS)
  • A dream season has quickly turned into a nightmare for the Hogs, as the Tide roll into Fayetteville, 20-point favorites.
- UNC at #19 Louisville (3:30 ABC or ESPN2)
  • The Cards with a win will be 3-0 for the 1st-time under Coach Strong, last time they were 3-0? 2006, when they started 8-0 that season.
- #18 Florida at #23 Tennessee (6:00 PM ESPN) *College Game Day* Live from Rocky Top
  • The buzz is back on good 'ole Rocky Top. Can the Vols keep it that way, with this old-fashion SEC East match up.
- #2 USC at #21 Stanford (7:30 Fox)
  • Stanford has won four of the past five games in this rivalry. To get to 5 outta 6, their going to need a little "Luck" on their side. Cardinals have never won 4-straight in the 107 year-rivalry.
- #20 Notre Dame at #10 Michigan State (8:00 ABC)
  • Last time these two teams meant up in East Lansing, Sparty won on a fake FG in Overtime.

Will the rest of the Buckeyes offense please stand up! After the first two games, this unit has been a one-man show, with QB Braxton Miller using his arm and mostly his legs to provide the scoring attack the Bucks have needed for their 2-0 start. With Carlos Hyde out this week (knee injury) and Jordan Hall to be used a little as he still recovers from his summer foot injury, who will line up beside Braxton when the Buckeyes offense takes the field Saturday afternoon. That responsibility will fall on frosh RB Bri'onte Dunn and sophomore RB Rod Smith. I would like to think these two guys although young, can provide a spark to the offense and take some of the load off of Braxton. I also see Braxton throwing the ball downfield a little more this week exploding the Bears press coverage. Let's go "Silver Bullets", been a sub-par start so far from this unit. I see a quick start from the Buckeyes early and often, and they play their best game to this point of the season, making it a VERY long flight back to Cali, for the Golden Bears. It's another tune-up with the Buckeyes marque match up vs. Michigan State on the road on the horizon just two weeks away.
