Boomer Report: A Super Bowl Bucket List

Hoisting the Lombardi trophy, the ultimate
bucket list item for any NFL player(s).
With Super Bowl XLVII just days away from happening down inside the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, the grandest stage of Professional Football, it sure got me thinking.

The idea was, a list, a "bucket" list per/say, of some dream Super Bowl match ups, that I would like to see sometime in my lifetime. I enjoyed putting this list together and sharing it with all of you, and let me know what some of your "bucket" list Super Bowl's would be. I would enjoy hearing back from you all. Despite my hatred towards a few teams (Steelers, Ravens, Bengals and Patriots) each of the 32 NFL team's made it on this list, with the Cardinals & Browns finding themselves on it twice.

Boomer's Bucket List of Super Bowl's: (In no particular order)

Arizona Cardinals vs. Cleveland Browns
  • The ultimate Super Bowl scenario for a die-hard fan like me. My childhood team (Cardinals) going up against my lifetime team (Browns). It would be the greatest two weeks of my life, as I would spend time, sewing a half Cardinals-half Browns jersey together, looking into travel arrangements, and spending whatever sum of $$$ I would need, to snag two tickets to the game (the second one, for my dad). Arizona's been to one Super Bowl (XLIII), while the Browns still wait, as one of the remaining four teams in the NFL, to have never made the trip to the big game. Here we go Browns, Here we go...
New York Giants vs. Denver Broncos
  • Or what everyone would call, the "Manning Bowl". Peyton & Eli Manning, have enjoyed three Super Bowl rings between each other already, and a meeting between the two in the Super Bowl, well that there might just be the most-viewed, anticipated Super Bowl of all-time. Just who would the Manning folks, be rooting for in this one? Peyton gets his 2nd ring, equaling his little brother, Eli with two...
Detroit Lions vs. Cleveland Browns
  • The Browns find themselves again on this list, this time up against another cellar-dweller of the past couple decades, the Detroit Lions. Both teams have been the laughing stock of the modern NFL. For two teams that excelled well in the pre-Super Bowl era, thinking about this match up, between the two teams in the Super Bowl, brings to mind a common phase, "Is this real life?", haha. Brownies...
San Francisco 49ers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
  • With a win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, the 49ers would match the Steelers with six Super Bowl trophies, the most by a franchise in the NFL. Meaning this match up, would break the tie up top, and would give one franchise & their soiled fan base (of front-running band wagoner's) , another thing to brag about. Now, I would never want to see the Steelers ever-again in my lifetime make it back to a Super Bowl, if they did, I would want it to be against the Niners. 49ers...
Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans
  • A couple one-time Super Bowl team's, both losing their lone appearance in devastating fashion match up in this one. The Titans needed just another half-a-yard, to win Super Bowl XXXIV, while the Cardinals lost Super Bowl XLIII, in the closing seconds on a "very questionable" still to this day catch. The two franchises deserve another shot at winning the ultimate prize in the NFL. The red birds party w/ the Lombardi to the desert...
Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Jets
  • The classic "Media Bowl", pitting a long-drought Super Bowl team (Jets), who hasn't appeared in the game since Super Bowl III, with another team who has spent the last two decades trying to get back to the big game (Cowboys). Also, this is a dream match up for my pal, Gainer, who has cheered for the Jets all his life, and jumped on the Cowboy's bandwagon, like most 90's kids during his childhood. J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!...
Minnesota Vikings vs. Buffalo Bills
  • A pair of teams, that have just had their fair-share of bad luck in the Super Bowl. Both appearing four times over the years, with neither of them coming away AT LEAST once, with the Lombardi trophy. At 0-8 all-time in Super Bowl appearance's, this match up, would guarantee one franchise would finally get themselves some rings. For my uncle, a life-long Vikings fan, I lean towards the Purple & Gold in this one...
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Cincinnati Bengals
  • Two more teams, who have had multiple trips to the Super Bowl, but have lost both times at winning the Lombardi trophy. The Eagles, who would give one of the greatest, craziest fan bases, a reason to celebrate, after falling short in Super Bowl's XV & XXXIX. While if it was not for Joe Montana in Super Bowl XVI & XXIII, the Bengals would be two-time Super Bowl champions. The third times a charm for either of these two franchises. Fly Eagles Fly...
Carolina Panthers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
  • The two teams back in 1995 entered the league together, and both reached Conference Championship Game's during just their second-year of establishment. While the Panthers, have made it to one Super Bowl losing Super Bowl XXXVIII, the Jaguars have never been to one. In 1995, that was the last time the league brought in two expansion franchise's in the same year, and this Super Bowl match up should happen. Black Panthers in this one...
Washington Redskins vs. Indianapolis Colts
  • Down the road, if we could see a healthy RGIII lead the Redskins vs. Andrew Luck & the Colts, I think that match up, between the top two picks of the 2012 NFL Draft, would be pretty amazing to watch. In both their rookie campaign's, we all got a chance to peak into the future of the league, and it looks pretty good. Hog Nation...
Seattle Seahawks vs. Kansas City Chiefs
  • Throwing darts at a board of teams here, and these two teams were next in line. Russell Wilson is the quarterback out in Seattle, and led the 'Hawks to a surprising playoff run in 2012, I could probably see getting to the Super Bowl, someday. As for the Chiefs, they have no QB, but Andy Reid is their new Head Coach. Reid, with all the success he had in Philly, with the Eagles, a return trip back to the Super Bowl (guided the Eagles to Super Bowl XXXIX) would be an incredible accomplishment with this team he has inherited. Give me a C...
St. Louis Rams vs. Oakland Raiders
  • The two franchises that abandoned the City of Angels, it would be fitting that the two faced each other, the first time a brand new Los Angeles-area stadium would host a Super Bowl. The Rams, 1-1 all-time in Super Bowl's, both while in St. Louis & the Raiders (2-3 all-time) have won two of their three Super Bowl trophies, while in Oakland. Their lone one in LA coming in Super Bowl XVIII. Just win, baby....
Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots
  • The Super Bowl shuffle, Part 2? The two teams faced off against each other in Super Bowl XX, with the Bears rolling to a 46 to 10 victory. The end of Tom Brady's career is near, at least in New England (hopefully), and before he leaves town, the Bears with their D, would be a great match up against him. Like the Steelers, I hope to never see the Brady-led Patriots in another Super Bowl, but if it results in a 36-point bashing, I'm all for it. Da Bears...
Green Bay vs. Miami Dolphins
  • A pair of teams that have enjoyed back-to-back Super Bowl championships, the two team's have both made five appearances a piece to the Super Bowl. The Packers, winners of the Super Bowl I & II, have won a total of four in their five trips to the big game. As for the Dolphins, they too have won back-to-back with wins in Super Bowl VII & VIII, in a span that also included an appearance in Super Bowl VI (losing to the Cowboys). As they have lost their last two appearance, in Super Bowl XVII & XIX. Pack attack...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. San Diego Chargers
  • Another pair of one-time Super Bowl participants, this game needs to be played somewhere in the Midwest, with the Chargers holding down Southern Cal and the Bucs living it up in Southern  Florida. The lone Super Bowl appearance for the Bolts ended up being a butt-whooping to the SF 49ers, 49 to 26 in Super Bowl XXIX. As for the Buccaneers, they thumped the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII, 48 to 21. Go Chargers Go...

New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens
  • Shouldn't ever Super Bowl, have a high-flying offense attack, square off against a fierce defense. Well, with the Saints & Ravens match up, you might just have that scenario. The offensive-loaded Saints, captured their only Lombardi trophy in Super Bowl XLIV, in the franchise's first trip to the big game. While the Ravens, who are making this second trip to the game this weekend, dominated Super Bowl XXXV, beating the NY Giants, 34 to 7. Who dat...

Atlanta Falcons vs. Houston Texans
  • In the final "dream" Super Bowl match up, how about two high-scoring offenses, and the first to 40-points wins? The dirty birds of the ATL, would be making just their second appearance in the Super Bowl, losing to John Elway & the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXIII, 34 to 19. As for the Texans, a expansion franchise since 2002, would be making it's first trip to the big game. Flip of the coin, Texans...
