Top Ten Sport Comedies

We are one week away from the Oscars and we'll have a few different top 10 lists throughout the week.  Of course they will be related to sports!

Honorable Mention

#10
Woody Harrelson is just classic in this role.  Him and Snipes have great chemistry!

#9
Shake and bake! This movie is very well casted and Will Ferrell alongside John C. Reilly is one of the better duos in comedy today.  Plus it's NASCAR, hilarious...

#8
I appreciate the originality of Slapshot in the honorable mention category but Mystery, Alaska really brings out the best in a city built on hockey.  Russell Crowe anchors a good cast of nobodies in this comedy.

#7
No Colonel Sanders, you're wrong!  Adam Sander was in his prime when this movie came out.  Henry Winkler and Kathy Bates complete a great trio of actors in this balls out comedy.

#6
Oh, I'm just reading the dictionary, I like to break a mental sweat too! The Chuck Norris and Lance Armstrong cameos just show why this movie is pure classic.  Vince Vaughn is also in great form in this as well.  Favorite part?  Gotta be Jason Bateman co-anchoring the tournament on ESPN 8 The Ocho

#5
Billy Bob actually does a decent job in the remake a few years back but the kids in the original really make this one so good.  It's just good ole fashioned dirty comedy with kids.

#4
This has to be one of the most underrated sport comedies of all-time.  It might even be the best Farrelly Bros. movie.  Woody Harrelson makes another appearance here as the one claw armed bowler.  The Amish Randy Quaid is impeccable but it's Bill Murray as Woody's enemy bowler that is icing on the cake.

#3
Gold jacket, green jacket, who gives a sh**?! Still our favorite Adam Sander flick of all time here at Rock Bottom.  The hockey player turned golfer script is literally chock full of quotes to re-use over and over and over.  Shooter McGavin is the real star and Chris McDonald should be forever thanked for the amazing performance.

#2
I mean all you have to say is Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Rodney Dangerfield.  This golf country club movie will forever stand the test of time.  Chevy's incomprehensible catch phrases as the club pro and of course Murray as the groundskeeper catch the gopher.

I think what makes this movie so priceless is not only the tremendous acting but that it's Cleveland Indians baseball.  A team that historically is just awful in a city that has the worst luck in sports memory.  Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes, Tom Berenger, Corbin Bernsen along with a cast of B listers to fill out the rest of the team.  Wild Thing baby! I only have one thing to say to you Vaughn...strike this mother f**ker OUT.
