After four games, many people can jump to many conclusions about many things.  I will say this regarding the opening week of the Cleveland Cavaliers:  They are young, they are competitive, they will make you angry but they will continually improve and occasionally wow you.

Recap: Browns drop their 10th straight to the Ravens, 25-15

It's frustrating to watch the Browns settle for not one, not two, not three, but FIVE FG's in their 10-point loss to the Baltimore Ravens (6-2) this afternoon. The lose is the 10th straight against the Ravens. The Browns had great field position all afternoon, and had a number of solid plays, but were unable to find the end zone, despite getting into the Ravens redone FIVE TIMES. Phil Dawson, who might be at the tail end of a potential Hall of Fame career (at least in terms of the Browns franchise, haha), has been the Browns offense the past 14 seasons. The professional kicker, with his five FG's on the day, has made 23 consecutive field goals. Again, another winnable game into the 4th quarter, this youthful Browns squad continues to struggle to find ways to close out games "WINNING PLAYS". The Browns (2-7) now are on their bye week, and then travel down to Dallas, to face the Cowboys in two weeks. Hang in there Browns fans, someday, it might not be as bad to be a fan of this organization, ha. #FIRESHURMUR

Boomer's Game Recap: Perfect 10! Buckeyes cruise past Fighting Illini

Finally, a game that you won't biting your finger nails in the 4th quarter. Despite another slow start (which we have come accustomed to see this season) Ohio State rolled up 567 total yards of offense and thumped Illinois, 52-22. For the fourth time this season the Buckeyes went over the 50-point mark, as QB Braxton Miller had another stellar performance, in getting the Buckeyes to 10-0, their best start since 2007. Now, the Buckeyes head into their Bye Week, facing what most people predicted back during preseason camp, a two-game season. The Buckeyes travel up to Madison, WI on the 17th to face the Badgers, then will face their arch rivals from that school up north, the Saturday following Thanksgiving. It's been a wild 2012 season up to this point, and would be great to finish it off with a perfect 12-0 mark, as we all start to wonder, what it would have been like, if they were bowl eligible. O-H-I-O!

Boomer's Urban Renewal: Epicness of CFB engulfs Week 10

LSU & Alabama will have their rubber match on Saturday
when these two teams meet for the 3rd time in a year.

Miami (FL) beating Virginia Tech, 30-12 last night on the ESPN Thursday Night game, opened up the weekend, most of us had circled all the way back in August (for LSU fans it was probably mid-January, haha). November 3rd, 2012. #5 LSU hosting #1 Alabama in Baton Rouge, their third meeting between each other in the past year (8:00, CBS). The two teams played twice last season, both snoozers, with LSU winning the regular season meeting, 9-6, while Bama grabbed the crystal ball from LSU in the National Championship, 21-0. The rubber match, again will have National Championship/SEC Championship implications. For Bama, this is their 1st true test of the season, especially facing a ridiculously atmosphere, while LSU will be right back into the National Championship picture, after their lone lose back in October to Florida (14-6). If this match up wasn't enough for your Saturday evening, there is a PAC-12 clash & Big XII game, that showcase four high-powered offenses. Oregon travels down to LA, to face USC, which could be the first of two meeting this season for the two teams. While Heisman front-runner, Colin Klein and his K-State Wildcats host Oklahoma State, a game that should feature a lot of scoring (last seasons meeting: OK State 52 K State 45). Alabama, Oregon, and K State (all undefeated) are all favored by at least eight-points in these three games, that highlight this epic Saturday slate of College Football action. College Gameday is Live from Baton Rouge, LA starting at 10am on ESPN. November 3rd, and my reaction to the epicness of Saturday's slate of games.

Boomer Report: Coaching search, & Browns preparing for Ravens

Can the Browns in some way, land Andy Reid to
become their next Head Coach?

Barring a miracle, following this 2012 season, the Cleveland Browns will once again be searching for a new Head Coach. Since their return to the league in 1999, the Browns have had five Head Coaches (six, if you include Terry Robiskie, 6-game intern stint). With current Head Coach, Pat Shurmur recording a 6-18 record the past season +, it looks like he will be heading out the door, as new owner Jimmy Haslam III will certainly want to bring in his own guy. The Browns haven't had a legitimate Head Coach since the Ronald Reagan administration. Marty Schottenheimer was the Browns coach from '84-'88, posting a winning record of 44-27, with three divisional titles and appearing in three AFC Championship Games (dam you John Elway!). With the impending coaching search that will happen this off-season, the Browns will try again to find the guy that will be able to finally turn this ship around and get the Browns winning and contending again, like the 1980's. When teams in your own division seem to find the right guys, its frustrating as a Browns fan, to watch them cycle in & out a new Head Coach every 2-3 years.
