Vonn Bell, was just one of 24 football players, to announce Wednesday, that he will be coming to THE Ohio State University to play football in the fall. |
Alrighty, where shall we begin? Ok, how about this YouTube video, featuring Robert Nkemdiche, the #1 overall recruit of the Class of 2013 and his decision to play football (and of course go to class) at Ole Miss.
Along with Nkemdiche, who plays DE the Rebels snagged the #1 OT, #1 WR, #2 S, and #3 OT, among 28 total commitments, giving them the #5 class ranking this year. Of course, it got people asking, "how much it cost 'em?" As Ole Miss, who hasn't really been in the national picture, or SEC picture for that matter since the Eli Manning era, landed such a high-ranking recruiting class, folks started to question, "how'd Ole Miss pull this off?" I don't know, maybe...the kids just wanted to go to Ole Miss and become the class that turns things around down in Oxford. Just cause a yearly doormat has a high recruiting class, doesn't mean they cheated (bought) the talent (new haircut, same dead arm) and/or that they will jump to the top of the rankings come August, once the games on the field are played. Well, that's all I gotta say about that.
In other news, the Top 5 from ESPN Class Recruiting where as followed:
1.) Alabama: Winners of the past three out of four BCS National Championships, you're gonna have the pick of the litter each and every year, and well, Nick Saban once again landed the #1 recruiting class, for the second-straight year.
2.) Florida: Somehow Will "Wild Man" Muschamp landed a Top 3 class, entering his 3rd year at the helm down in Gatorville. Landing some stud defensive players, hasn't been an issue in recent years, but until they find someone to get the ball into the endzone on the offensive side of the ball, they will once again have a number of 13-6, 10-3 games this fall.
3.) Ohio State: Urban Meyer has done it once again. In his first full-season of recruiting at Ohio State, he came away with a Top 3 class, to go along with his Top 5 class a year ago. The Buckeyes are the class of the Big Ten once again, and will be out to prove it, when they take their 12-game winning streak into the 2013 season this fall. Go Buckeyes!
4.) Notre Dame: Look what a 12-0 record and trip to the BCS National Championship Game will do for a storied program like ND, that stormed back into the national championship picture this past season. Now, the task for Head Coach Brian Kelly, is figuring out a way to keep the Irish at the top both in the recruiting world, and as well in the fall when it matters the most.
5.) Ole Miss: In just his 1st season at Ole Miss, Head Coach Hugh Freeze recorded 7 wins, the most for the Rebels, since a 9-win season in 2009. Now with a Top 5 recruiting class and momentum, can he put the Rebels, back in the picture of the SEC West, with heavyweights: Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M.
